DisneyWorld

So, as a way to celebrate our Anniversary, we went to Disneyworld for a week. On Sunday May 4, 2008 we flew out very early in the morning to Orlando, Florida. We got in at about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday and went and checked in at the Port Orleans French Quarter one of Disney's resort hotels, and then decided to head to the Magic Kingdom. First thing first, we headed to Splash Mountain. It was a lot more crowded than i had expected, but we got wet, and then fastpassed Thundermountain, and played around the rest of the night. We were able to stay there way late that night, because if you stay at the Disney resorts you get to stay during their "Magic hours" where it is open later for resort guests and not the public. So we stayed late, getting in pretty much everything, plus the Magic firework show and main street parade.

Monday we got up early and went to Disney's Animal Kingdom. It was really cool, they have expanded and added some new rides. Like the Safari, which is huge; and also the new "Expedition Everest" roller coaster. I was suprised to get Crystal on this, but I did. And i think she actually enjoyed it. At Animal Kingdom there were a lot of cool shows such as The Lion King show and the Bird show. We met a family that had adopted a little boy from Omsk, one of the cities I served in on my mission. That was neat. Animal Kingdom closes at 5 p.m. so for dinner that night we went to Downtown Disney and ate at Planet Hollywood, and then did some shopping.

Tuesday after breakfast at our hotel, (included in our Disney meal plan) we went to Epcot. Epcot is my personal favorite. I love the world exhibit. First of all though we went to try out some of the new attractions, "Test Track" and Mission Space. Well, i went on mission space by myself. I was thankful too, during the waiting line, due to all the warnings given. I was told that it was super intense. I love thrills, but even i was scared thinking it would be just like blast off. Well, i was a little let down, but we'll save that story for another day. After Soarin, test track, and some other attractions we went over to the World Exhibits. Crystal wasn't really looking forward to Epcot, thinking that everything would be inside the Spaceship Earth, epcot ball. Well, she enjoyed herself, finding out that there were tons of pavillions, restaraunts, shops, etc.. We left around 4 p.m. and then went back to Magic Kingdom for dinner. We ate at the Tony's restorante Italiano, from the Lady and the Tramp. It was a huge bowl of spaghetti. Tasty though. We did some more shopping, and watched the firework show again.

Wednesday we went to Typhoon Lagoon. Disney's water park. They have some new Waterslide Coasters there that were pretty intense. Typhoon Lagoon was much better than any other water park i have ever been to. Around 4 we went over to Disney's Hollywood Studios. Here we went and saw the Beauty and the Beast show, then got Crystal to go on the Rock and Rollin Roller coaster. It shoots you from 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds. After that we went to the Little Mermaid show, and an animation show, which taught us about Disney's animation. After we were able to see which Disney Characters we were most like. Crystal was most like tinkerbell, according to a questionarre, and i was most like Jimminy Cricket, go figure. For Dinner we went to the Sci Fi Diner. It was fun, you sit in 50's cars, set up like at a drive in theater. After Dinner we rushed to the Fantasmic show. Truly Fantasmic.

Thursday we spent back at the Magic Kingdom, trying to do all the stuff we didn't get in the other day. We also did some of our favorites again like Pirates, and Thundermountain, and Mickey's philharmonic orchestra 3-D show. We tried to see Sleeping Beauty- one of crystal's friends plays her this year, but some idiot wouldn't let us. We tried all week to get in to eat dinner at Cinderella's royal table, which is a restaraunt inside Cinderella's castle, but we couldn't get in. So we went back to Disney's Hollywood Studios. We went and saw the Indiana Jones show, rode Tower of Terror, and then ate at one of Disney's Signature restaraunts, the Brown Derby. Like i mentioned earlier we had the Disney meal plan, which allowed us to get dinner, drinks, and dessert for free, lunch drinks, and dessert and drinks for free, and then a snack as well during the day. But, it really was worth it. Dinner at the brown derby would have been 92 dollars but it was covered. This was they way it was all week. If you are ever thinking of going to Disneyworld, do the meal plan. After dinner we went to see the fantasmic show again. It was good.

Friday we went back to Epcot, i had to try this mission space ride out again, to see if i was crazy. But, once again, i was left disappointed. We spent another little bit at Epcot, and then sadly had to go back to the hotel, and then to the airport.
Our trip was amazing. We had a ton of fun. It was a fun way to relax, and spend time together.
